23 persons from the diaspora honoured with Krobo titles after tracing their roots
Twenty three (23) person with both sex from the United States of America (USA) has been given Krobo titles after tracing their roots to Manya Akromoase in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality.
Interacting with them, they noted that they were descendants of their fore father's who were involved in slavery during the colonial rule.
Speaking in an interview with Onua news at a durbar held at Kpongwunor, *Dr Nene Narh Sibim Tekpertey II* chief of Manya Akromoase noted that, the 23 persons from the diaspora who has been there for many decades felt identifying their roots with names such as " Tekpertey, Lawer, Mamle, among others which are orignated from Krobo.
Also, others were install as developmental chiefs Queen mothers of the area.
"I think now it is also our turn here in Krobo areas to also recieve our people living in the diaspora now they are coming, not that they are coming only coming to this Clan thus Akromoase but am praying in the near future they come to different Clans so that they can receive them as well " Nene Stated.
Nene Concluded by urging people at the diaspora not to forget their roots and make it a point to visit there regularly to aid in the socio- economic development of the country.
The program was attended by dignitaries such Okpatakpla Nene Sakraku IV, Divisional chief of Manya Kongwunor, Ebenezer Oklertey Tei Larbi,Mp for Lower Manya Krobo Constituency among others.
