COCOA FARMERS TO GET GH& 1.3m FOR ONE ACRE OF COCOA FARM SOLD TO MINERS IN NEW COCOA LAW - COCOBOD CEO.

The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Cocobod, Joseph Boahen Aidoo has hinted that Cocobod will soon present a bill to parliament that seeks to price each cocoa tree in Ghana. In the new law cocoa farmers will receive at least GH& 1.3m for every acre of cocoa farm sold to miners.
Mr Boahen Aidoo noted that it is a total cheat for miners to buy one acre of cocoa farm from farmers for only GH &20,000 .
The Cocobod boss was addressing the people of Wassa Amenfi during a ceremony to climax the 2022 ƐDIƐ festival(Yam Festival) last Saturday at Wassa Akropong.
He was of the believe that the new law if approved will deter galamseyers from buying cocoa farms and prevent farmers from selling their cocoa farms to galamseyers.
