A RENOWNED EDUCATIONIST IN THE WASSA EAST DISTRICT CALLS ON GES TO CONSIDER WASSA LANGUAGE IN THE CURRICULUM

Mr. Daniel Lawrence Afusah is an ace educationist who works with the Ghana Education Service in the Wassa East district of western region has expounded on the need to make the Wassa language one of the few printable and learnable Ghanaian languages in the country.

He explained that, the population of Wassa people forms about 60% of the entire population of western. Besides, the Wassa land has produced very prominent personalities who have made and are making immense contributions to the development of Ghana.

Such distinguished individuals according to Mr. Afusah include the first President of the Republic, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah who research and history has uncovered that he hails from Tarkwa Nsuem in the western region and Hon. Isaac Adjei Mensah, MP for Wassa East constituency.

Speaking in an interview with Wassa East based radio station WASSAMAN FM, Mr. Daniel Lawrence Afusah emphasized that he has already developed the alphabets for the Wassa language but he is stuck by financial challenge.
