The Chairman of the Elections Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kakra Essamuah has described as “an extremely frightening job”, efforts by the party to win the 2024 general elections from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, there is a lot of “uselessness” at the seat of government, the Flagstaff House, and the NDC must do everything it can to liberate the people of Ghana from that.
“The NDC needs to win power to liberate this country from the over powering stench of uselessness at the Flagstaff house. I’m very happy that you’re here. You have a very heavy duty because removing a tyrant is an extremely frightening job,” he stated, whilst welcoming John Mahama’s team to the NDC Headquarters to pick a nomination form for him.
The Director of Communications for the party believes the former President has what it takes to help deliver the country out of the economic mess it finds itself currently.
“But you said you will do, we trust, you’re part of us. We know you’re also suffering so we know that you’ll do your best for all the people of Ghana including ourselves. I take it that you know what it takes to be a President of Ghanaian in this sorry times.
“In 28 Feb 1948, soldiers who had retired demonstrated. I was not born, but nobody ever dreamt that it will happen again, Can you imagine that Pensioners are going on strike under Nana Akufo-Addo?” he quizzes
John Mahama’s former contender, and leader of the delegatin to pick his forms, Prof Joshua Alabi, believe he (John Mahama) stands tall among all the candidates, and must be given the nod to the lead the party into the 2024 general elections. He said the time has come for a messiah to take the country out of the woods.
Dean of Regional Chairmen of the NDC John Kwadwo Gyapong , said John Mahama has their full support and they are ready to make sure he wins the elections.
