A protracted confusion over the sale of a school land for illegal mining within the Asankran Breman township in the Amenfi West Municipality has set tongues wagging.

The miners have vowed to continue their nefarious activities claiming that those who sold the land to them with the connivance of some elders including Nana Gyanpiah who some accused of taking Ghc18,000, to settle relevant stakeholders including, the Omanhene of Wassa Amenfi, TETRETE OKUAMOAH SEKYIM II.

Nana Gyanpiah vehemently denied the said allegation vehemently when this Reporter spoke with him but claimed the said amount was collected for his family, who owns that portion of the land.

Omanhene Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II tells Wassaman Insider, he has no knowledge of such underhand dealings between some elders of Asankran Breman and illegal miners. Abusuapanin Agyei Mensah has since lodged a formal complaint to the Omanhene for his Royal Consideration.

Breman Abusuapanin Agyei Mensah has subsequently ordered for a halt to all illegal mining activities within Asankran Breman.

He is pleading with Government to ensure Community Mining in the Asankran Breman  Divisional Area. Youth of Asankran Breman are divided over this impasse as this reporter gathers that a looming clash between the illegal miners and the youth is evident unless there is a timely intervention of the Asankrangwa Divisional Command. The story continues.
