*Hon.Barbara Oteng-Gyasi Commissions 3 Unit Classroom Block.*
The President of Wassa-Hemaa Foundation *Hon.Barbara Oteng-Gyasi* has commissioned a three (3) unit classroom block at Brigade Camp School promises at Aboso on Friday, 10th June 2022.
The project was initiated due to an appeal by the Headmaster of the school. The rehabilitation of the dilapidated three (3) unit classroom block plus office and Computer room was executed at a cost of Seventy -Thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh¢70,000) and furnished with Sixty Dual Metal Desks and other accessories valued at Fifty-Thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh¢50,000) bringing the total cost of the project to One hundred and twenty thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh¢120,000.00).
At a brief ceremony to commission the school, Hon.Barbara Oteng-Gyasi highlighted on some Government policies such as Elimination of Schools under Trees, Free SHS, and NO GUARANTOR for tertiary level loans demonstrating Government's commitment to education.
She reiterated that education is the key for national development hence her Foundation is poised to support the Municipal Assembly to put up or renovate basic schools within the small towns and villages to ensure access to good basic school infrastructure across the Municipality.
Hon. Barbara used the opportunity to commend the Headmaster (Mr. Simon Abuaku) and presented him with a cash award of One Thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh¢1000.00) for the commitment to the welfare of the children by requesting assistance for the classroom block.
The *MCE, Hon. Isaac Dasmani ( PhD)* expressed great joy for the support being provided by Hon. Lawyer Barbara Oteng Gyasi and the Wassa Hemaa Foundation and gave the assurance that the Assembly would monitor to ensure proper maintenance of the facility.
