More Support Needed To Fight Against Terrorism - Oti Regional Minister.

The Oti Regional Minister, Mr Joshua Makubu has passionately called on Ghanaians especially in the Oti Region to be vigilant in an effort to fight any activity of terrorists and extremist in the region as well as the country.
According to him, despite the readiness of the security, and by large the security agencies in the country, the fight against terrorism would be a herculean task when there was no collective and logistical responsibility.
To this end, he has charged all MMDCES, Police Commanders and the immigration services in the Region to ensure that borders in their jurisdictions were kept safe and secure to prevent any unlawful entry and penetration by terrorist.
He made the observation at a day workshop on 'Awareness Creation, Education on Terrorism and it effects' in the Nkwanta North District of the Oti Region.
The workshop, which was funded by the REGSEC brought together regional commanders and top officers in the region to deliberate on enhancing Security at the Public Places and make recommendations to create awareness in the region.
The Minister said the programme and the project were organized across the region to achieve numerous objectives beyond terrorism.
"Despite the huge developmental gains by the current government through the provision of vehicles, border patrols, accoutrement, arms and ammunition, more was needed at the various borders to enable the officers perform their mandates more effectively that's why I gave the car which was supposed to be used by myself to the security to boost their confidence, yet we still need more and we're ready to accept any help from every Ghanaian including you the Media," he added.
The DCE for Nkwanta North, Nawungma Kidignang William, said the Nkwanta North assembly will sit together with the police commander and other security services to make sure terrorist don't take advantage of their borders.
He commended the REGSEC for the significant role being played at the various Districts of the region to safeguard the citizens.
"Terrorist can pass through with any means to operate, something like GETTO, we've to clear those areas, As I speak to you most youth are surrounded at a point calling there GETTO, and everything that goes on there is of insecurity of the people and that's the first place the wicked one visit first before they start operations by influencing them, so I'll meet the security and put things in other. We'll clean the Nkwanta North District even if my child is involved," he added.
He feather advised house owners and hotel operators to be vigilant on their clients.
