SANITARY PADS SHOULD BE MADE FREE FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN TO ENSURE MENSTRUAL HYGIENE ---
MADAM FELICIA AKU DAYIE EMPHATICALLY STATED.
The C.E.O and the founder at Licia's Beauty Parlour and advocate of women empowerment " Madam Felicia Aku Dayie has stated emphatically that, sanitary pads should be made available for school children to enhance menstrual and personal hygiene as most of them are in the process of experiencing certain transition in their growth cycle.
According her in an exclusive interview with DJ Active on Active Tv, Active1 radio and activenewsonline.com respectively.
She explained that, most of these young school children in the country cannot afford or get access to these menstrual products due to high rate of poverty and the economic recession, so it should be a collective effort in ensuring we provide them with these materials which suppose to be a necessity.
She further added that" the intensity of poverty and hardship in the country has to compel most of them to use certain materials during their menstruation period which is unhygienic and may affect them psychologically.
I am making compassionate appeal to the government, philanthropists, Ghana Education Service, Ghana Health service, individuals and other cooperate institutions to come to their aid and support my initiative of " One Girl One Sanitary pads since most of them are in their adolescent age - she conclusively said.
