Plans are far advanced for the launch of the 80th anniversary of the Effiduase Senior High Commercial School (EFFISCO). The Assembly Hall of Ghana's flagship Commercial School will be filled to capacity as old and current students hail their Alma Mater on May 31, 2023.
Formerly known as the Modern School of Commerce (MODESCO), the school has over the years churned out astute academicians including, Chartered Accountants, Lawyers, Educationists, Journalists, and Clergymen among others. Notable among them are Dr. George Sarpong, Executive Director of the National Media Commission (NMC), Nana Osei Kofi (Sarbin Akrofuomhene), Who would chair the anniversary launch, Nana Osei Achina Kwagyansa (Oseikromhene of Asante Effiduase and immediate past Deputy Director General of the Ghana Education Service) who is the Guest Speaker for the august program. Others include Dr. Osei Bonsu, Political Scientist, Mr. Ishak Kyei-Brobbey, a Celebrated Academician, and a host of others including the writer of this story, Sir Richmond Antwi Boasiako (General Manager of Asankrangwa based Royal FM and Managing Editor of the Wassaman Insider Newspaper).
All the Alumni Associations under the EFFISCO Old Students Association are billed to attend the upcoming 80th Anniversary Launch, which is a precursor to the main Anniversary soon. Authorities of Effisco are earnestly ensuring that measures are in place for success of the anniversary launch.
The management of the Effiduase Senior High Commercial School, Old Students Council and other dignitaries are hereby inviting all old and present students to help lift the flag of EFFISCO higher. Let our motto "STRENUE" be our watchword forever. Remember your Alma Mater and brighten where you are. EFFISCO IS THE GREATEST!!!!
