The 2024 International day of the Boy Child was commemorated in the Wassa Amenfi West Municipality with an all Boys engagement at Blessed Assurance Montessori School and Methodist JHS at Samreboi and Asankragwa respectively. The talk centred on the global theme: Improving on Boys and their Mental Health.
Speaking to the boys, ADO II Ebenezer Eshun and Fire Man Kish Eboh Anakoh of Asankragwa Ghana National Fire Service Division encouraged them to take their studies seriously so their aspirations can materialised and this can only be achieved through hard work and discipline.
On the part of Mr. Bismark Addo from the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), He stressed on the need for the boys to stop bullying as it is against the Fundamental Human Rights of their victims as enshrined in the Chapter 5 of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and spelt out the consequences associated with bullying.
Madam Gloria Addisu Hasford (Municipal Director NCCE) hammered on Anger Management of the Boys.
She called on them to share their challenges to their Mentors and trust worthy Elders in the community and society to offload some of the emotional burdens instead of bottling them all inside. She also encouraged them to take their studies seriously for a better tomorrow.
The boys recieved some eatables from Golden Tree Foundation with the aim of celebrating them for living up to expectations.
There were media engagements too on Green Gold fm, Velvet Beam fm and Royal fm.
