The construction of a 120-storey stores project on the Asankrangwaa Buadum School Land has started.
The school management committee which is spearheading the project with support from stakeholders, says proceeds would be used to help finance infrastructure provision and the upcoming centenary celebration of the Asankrangwa Buadum Basic School.
Earlier, the construction was met with fierce resistance from the True Citizens of Asankrangwa, a pressure group in the town, which part of the members recently defected to register the now Amenfi West Citizens Network.
The Municipal Security Council (MUSEC), has been holding meetings with all stakeholders, including the Asankrangwa Town Development Committee.
Speaking to the this writer on Samreboi based Green Gold FM, MCE,Hon. Dr. lord Nana Tandoh was upbeat about the construction of the once abandoned Buadum School Stores Project. Heaps of sand have been deposited with cement blocks beings constructed on the said portion of the Buadum School at Asankrangwa.
The MCE said the project is being constructed under a build, operate and Transfer the the owner policy under the yet to be determined and stipulated expiry year between the school authorities and prospective business people.
Already, some investors have made unspecified financial commitments for the project to start, amidst some disagreements from a section of citizens and residents. This reporter will keep readers posted on further developments.
