"Presidential candidate John Mahama has pledged to decentralize the acquisition of small scale mining licenses to the municipal and district levels if elected. 

Additionally, he has promised to create a fund to support beginners who are willing to enter the mining sector. This promise was made during the launch of his youth manifesto, aiming to make the mining sector more accessible, inclusive, and supportive for young people and local communities. 

Mahama hopes to empower the next generation of miners and promote sustainable development in the industry."
