The Regent Of Pwalugu,Kalba and Friends Donates To Pwalugu Cluster Of Schools.
As part of measures to make education attractive and accessible to pupils in Pwalugu and it's catchment area in the Talensi District of the Upper East Region of Ghana, the Regent of Pwalugu, Mr Thompson Abilla, the people of Pwalugu both home and the diaspora (Kalba) and friends have presented 122 dual desks to Pwalugu and Tanko JHS as phase 1 and 2 out their 4 phase project to the cluster of schools to help improve upon teaching and learning in their schools at the cost of GHC 36,600.00 Ghana cedis and and 800 note one exercise books, with the ultimate goal to motivate pupils to study hard.
The representative of Kalba, Ayine Anafo Sunday in presenting the furniture and exercise books to the schools, appealed to other stakeholders and philanthropists to come to the aid of the school by providing them wlith teaching and learning materials (TLMs) as well as furniture. Mr Abilla in an interview with GBC URA Radio further advised pupils to shun away from negative lifestyle and rather focus on their education.
On receiving the furniture , the Headmistress of Pwalugu Junior High School, madam Jennifer Akumine could not hide her joy and therefore thanked the Regent and Kalba for their kind gesture and further promised they will take proper care of the furniture. She further advised parents to take proper care of their wards more especially the girl child in order to enable them excel in their academic path.
Headteacher of Takano primary school, Mr Alfred Akubiire on his part indicated that furniture was really a big issue to the school and that this has come as great relieve to them.
The School Management Committee (SMC) chairman for Pwalugu cluster of schools, Mr Samuel Adawine Abora on his part charged management of the school to practice proper maintenance culture in order to prolong the lifespan of the furniture.
The presentation of the furniture which took place in the premises of the school was attended by the Regent of Pwalugu, Thompson Abilla, the project officer of the Talensi District Education Office , Mr Azure Charles Akugre who represented the Talensi District Director of Education, Kalba as well as parents and teachers of the schools.
