Black Stars forward, Christian Atsu who was reportedly among those trapped under rubble after a huge earthquake hit Turkey confirmed dead.
Multiple Turkish media outlets reported on 6th February,2023 that Black Stars midfielder Christian Atsu, who plays for Hatayspor, is among thousands of people left under the rubble of Monday morning's devastating earthquake in that country.
Today, the ministry of foreign affairs, with a Press Release confirmed the star player's demise.

After the shocking report hit all Ghanaians, the president of the Republican of Ghana, His Excellency, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, took the his Facebook page paying tribute to the late Atsu. His post indicates

On behalf of the Government and people of Ghana, I extend sincere, heartfelt condolences to the widow, children and family of our fellow Ghanaian, Christian Atsu, on the sad news of his death. Ghana football has lost one of its finest personnel and ambassadors, one who will be difficult to replace. He will be sorely missed.
May his soul rest in the Bosom of the Almighty until the Last Day of the Resurrection when we shall all meet again. Amen! Says President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
