BIBIANI ANWIASO BEKWAI MUNICIPALITY ----- RAINFOREST ALLIANCE AND PARTNERS TRAIN OBSERVERS TOWARDS IDENTIFYING AND REPORTING FORCED AND WORST FORMS OF CHILD LABOR

A seminar on training community monitors for the proper identification and reporting of all forms of child labor in Mining and Cocoa growing areas in the Bibiani Anwiaso Bekwai Municipality  has been held at Bibiani. 

Under the auspices of Rainforest Alliance in partnership with SOLIDARIDAD, International Cocoa Initiative and Codesult Network, participants from ten communities in the Municipal were equipped with knowledge and logistics and charged to help ensure the implementation of Social Responsibility Agreements by mining and Cocoa companies in the Bibiani Anwiaso Bekwai Municipality. 

Speaking in an interview, Project for Codesult Network, Ebenezer Somiah said his outfit will continue to partner like minded institutions to help identify and report all forms of child labor in its operating communities. 

On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Codesult Network, Nana Robert Obiri Yeboah explained that such seminars boost community monitoring of  activities of Cocoa growing and mining companies towards eradicating the worst forms of child labor.
