AMENFI EAST: NCCE HOLDS ANNUAL CITIZENSHIP WEEK CELEBRATION - 2023



The Annual Citizenship Week Celebration which is one of the flagship programmes of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) is celebrated across the country of which the Wassa Amenfi East Municipal office is not left out. The citizenship week celebration seeks to inculcate the spirit of good citizenship in the pupils so they will grow up as responsible citizens. 


The monthlong celebration also seek to also instill the spirit of volunteerism in the pupils and to reinforce adherence to values such as patriotism, peaceful coexistence, and respect as building blocks for national cohesion. The office started its celebration from the 2nd May, 2023.  




The Municipal Office of the Commission in this year’s celebration visited forty (40) selected schools within the municipal on the theme: Thirty years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy: Promoting National Values, Patriotism, Trust, Pursuit of Excellence and Discipline. Mr. Fredrick Korankye - Municipal Chief Executive, Nana Addai Monokum - kyidomhene of Wassa Asikuma, Nana Kofi Owusu Chief of Awoyo No. 2, Alhaji Abubakari - Chief of the Zongo Community in Wassa Asikuma, Mr. Andrea Adu Gyabeng - President of the National Service Personnel Association and Mr. Aboagye Dacosta Nkantabisa - Role Model volunteered as resource persons for the 2023 citizenship week celebration. 

Volunteers are individuals who have excelled in their chosen occupation and offer themselves willingly to interact with the pupils.
