A Seminar on improving the capacity of Stakeholders to respond to Human Trafficking Cases In Vulnerable and At-Risk Communities in Amenfi West, Aowin Municipal and Suaman District has been held at Asankrangwa.
Codesult Network and Free world International have been undertaking this educational baseline study under its Human Trafficking module.
The project has been made possible by the financial support of the European Union, Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy and Finance , with supervisory responsibilities from Expertise France and the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.
Participants included Security Agents, Local Government Experts, Social Welfare and NCCE Directors, Judicial Service workers Director of the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), and Media Practitioners, among others.
Survey reports indicate that the recruitment, transport, transfer, harboring and receipt of persons by such means as a threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, abduction, fraud or deception for the purpose of exploitation is very rampant in the Western and Western North Regions.
Human smuggle, illegal mining and human trafficking into the Suaman District, Aowin and Amenfi West Municipalities are also on the ascendency. Organizers hoped participants would in turn replicate the education given them.
