The people of Wassa Ehyireso were overjoyed as their community was finally connected to the national grid, possibly by, Hon. Ernest Frimpong, the NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Wassa Amenfi East Constituency. The farming community had been without a lighting system for 30 years, with some residents shedding tears of joy at the inauguration ceremony.
Hon. Frimpong through his initiative "LET THERE BE LIGHT", attributed the success of the project to the support of his boss, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and the NPP government led by H.E. Mahamudu Bawumia. He expressed confidence that the community would vote for him and the NPP in the upcoming general elections.
Nana Kwadwo Amoafo II, the chief of Ehyireso, thanked Hon. Frimpong and the NPP government for bringing light to the community, recounting how previous efforts to secure electricity had proven futile. He appealed to the community to vote for Hon. Frimpong and H.E. Mahamudu Bawumia to continue their good work.
The chairman of the Wassa Amenfi East Constituency NPP, Nana Kofi Amankwah, also urged the community to vote for the NPP parliamentary candidate and H.E. Mahamudu Bawumia, promising more development projects in the area.
