Champions of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League, FC Samartex have paid a courtesy call on the President of the Republic, H. E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
The Timber Giants pulled off a vintage performance in the Ghana Premier League to overpower the rest of the clubs to win the trophy just a second season in the elite league.
As part of the activities in the off-season to celebrate the historic and momentous accomplishment, FC Samartex, in a short yet a colorful occasion, presented the league trophy to President Akufo-Addo at the seat of Presidency at Jubilee House.
The FC Samartex delegation was led by the highly revered Paramount Chief of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II along with Club President, Dr. Richard Duah Nsenkyire. Other officials players included the General Manager, Edmund Ackah, Business Development Manager, Paul Kwasi Anyaba, Captain Emmanuel Adu Siaw and Deputy Captain, Ebenezer Acquah.
During the visit, the club appealed for the support of the President ahead of its participantion in the CAF Champions League.
His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his remarks congratulated the team for their historic victory and assured the team of his support.
In the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, FC Samartex have been drawn against Victoria United of Cameroon.
