NHIA To Fast Track Payment Of Arrears To Service Providers, Review Prices And Remove Facilities Charging Illegally From NHIS ; CEO

The CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye has paid a working visit to the Eastern Regional Office today June 20, 2022 with his board members to identify challenges confronting the delivery of services.
The Eastern Regional Manager outlined various challenges ranging from lack of logistics, broken down vehicles, obselete computers, lack of in-service training for NHIS staff, lack of access to loans among others.
Responding to the challenges, Dr Okoe Boye reiterated his commitment to revamp the NHIS with review of the Regional threshold, in-service training for NHIS staff, create customer service desk at service providing facilities across the nation where customers may have access to information and education, formation of advisory group at health facilities, intensify public education and information, etc.
The CEO assured of brand new pick ups for Yilo Krobo, Fanteakwa, Akuapim North.
This he said about 2,500 new pick ups have been procured and will be to distributed to various Regional and District levels as soon as possible to falicitate operations.
He urged NHIS clients who were charged illegally to report to the nearest NHIS office as he cautions facilities charging illegally to stop or they're removed from the system.
He however added that most facilities are being paid old claims instead of the reviewed claims, reasons they might be charging exorbitantly to recover lost thus such issues will be curtailed in his tenure of office
