WASSA BEREKUM COMMUNITY BUILDS OWN BRIDGES THROUGH COMMUNAL LABOR.

Wassa Berekum bridge that collapsed last week in the Wassa Amenfi west municipality  have been fixed by the people in the area through Communal Labor. 

Assemblyman, Hon Sulemana Asure, who is the is the Presiding Member for wassa Amenfi west municipal assembly told Wasaman Insider in an interview. 

Wasa Berekum is one of the Dark Communities in the Amenfi West Municipality. Residents only need a transformer to enjoy electricity but they have been denied this necessity for over six years now. 

Health workers assist women in labor with torchlights while some newly posted teachers to Wasa Berekum reapply for immediate transfers due to the absence of modern electricity. 

The over one thousand people in Wasa Berekum and its surrounding communities struggle to get portable water. 

Their road is nothing to write home about. The chiefs and elders of Wasa Berekum are appealing to government to rescue them from their predicament.
