A Tarkwa based Musical Artist , Cross Asendua says he would have sacked Owass FM 's DJ Kenya for saying "DJ's are not the main agents of music promotion as they used to be" if he was his employer.
According to him, DJ's have been the source of music promotions and they continue to be so.
He said, he sees Kenya' s statement as unfair to all music DJs.
Cross Asendua, made this statement in an interview with Iceman on Tarkwa based Pure FM. The musician was speaking on a wide range of issues including the latest pronouncement made by multiple award winning DJ Kenya of Owass FM - Tarkwa.

DJ Kenya made this pronouncement on his Facebook page following a Tik Toker saying, musicians who want to make their songs hit and go viral, should channeled those songs through Tik Tokers.. DJ Kenya had seen that comment as a downplay of the integrity of radio DJs hence his rebuttal.
When Wasaman Insider later spoke to DJ Kenya in a phone interview, he explained that the digital platforms like YouTube, Playstore, Music Stores and all forms of Social Media also compete with radio musical presenters for music promotion.
He added that most DJs are playing songs from digital sources because many musicians are not physically contracting DJs to promote their songs for them and advised musical presenters to embrace technology in the performance of their duties.
