As part of West Group Foundation (WGF) continuous efforts to improve human life quality. My gallant co-partners; Mr. Michael Nterful, Mr. Umar Abubakar, Ms. Muniru Nashira Nasara, Ms. Tigaa Marcia Wepiah and Ms. Whitney Opare Saforo Okwan spent this morning of the International Street Children’s Day at the Madina Zongo junction and Adventist Preparatory School to share the joy of the season with them and to make their day a joyful and memorable one.
According the CEO of West Group Foundation, Mr. John Forson, they shared assorted Drinks, Biscuits, Exercise Books and Pens to less privilege children on the street.
The world observes International Day for Street Children on April 12 every year. This day was started to provide a voice for children who live on the street. This was so that their rights cannot be ignored.
At Madina Zongo junction, we encouraged and enlightened the underprivileged street children to not feel despondent or lose hope, but rather be strong, resilient, and ambitious in managing to keep their cool regardless of the dire economic conditions that they face. Also, we donated soft drinks and biscuits to them for merriment as they observe this notable occasion.
At Adventist Preparatory School, we had an amazing time with the headmistress, Ms. Beatrice Opoku and the pupils.
We urged the pupils to take their academic activities seriously because education is the key to success.
Again, we donated exercise books, pens, and bottled soft drinks to them as well.
Moreover, we assured them of our foundation's keen interest in contributing its quota for the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals 2 and 4 (SDG) which talks about zero hunger and quality education.
The broad smiles on the face of the pupils of the school were enormous.
It was a pleasure for us to spend this morning with the underprivileged street children and pupils in our community. Their moral requisite depends on our undying support and love.
As a community, we will be judged by how we deal with the underprivileged individuals in our community hereafter. Ascribed to that, we (WGF) entreat everyone to have a modicum of decency towards these vulnerable one's when they cross paths with them. Let us build a community of responsible citizens which is inclusive of everybody.
We express our profound gratitude to the benevolent donors, well-wishers, and everyone for their immense contribution towards “WGF” projects which seeks to positively impact the lives of the vulnerable in our communities. May the LORD reward you all well for the kindness you have shown in making this achievable task.
Happy International Street Children's Day to all the scores of children in Ghana whose lives are inextricably connected with public spaces.
